About The Position

This role is responsible for leading a team of material handlers, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards are met. The Team Lead will oversee daily operations, including material flow, inventory management, and team member development, while also ensuring compliance with all company policies and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience in material handling.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Understanding of inventory management and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and customer specifications.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain acceptable attendance.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Team Lead or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in 5S methodology.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and inspections are followed, including daily safety dock audits.
  • Lead daily start-up meetings and communicate production priorities.
  • Train, coach, and cross-train team members.
  • Assign daily work and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Ensure production lines have the required materials, supplies, and containers throughout the shift.
  • Review production schedules and anticipate material needs to prevent shortages and downtime.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, material identification, traceability, and documentation.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and segregation of materials.
  • Monitor material usage, shortages, scrap, inventory discrepancies, and downtime.
  • Maintain 5S, cleanliness, organization, and proper material presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and Customer Specifications.
  • Assist with problem solving, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate production, material, quality, and employee issues to the supervisor and escalate when necessary.
  • Conduct effective shift handoffs and communicate outstanding issues.
  • Support audits, inventory counts, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all Quality, Environmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
