About The Position

This role is for a 1st Shift Team Lead in Material Control. The position requires a high level of personal performance and attendance, with leadership in timeliness and technical performance. The Team Lead will serve as a working example to all team members and possess excellent customer service skills. Key responsibilities include aligning the team with proper manpower to meet materials management requirements, initiating actions for goal achievement, and coordinating with the Materials Supervisor. The Team Lead must be available to employees to answer technical inventory questions, address production concerns, and other technical work functions. They must also be able to meet all requirements of an Inventory position, support the transition of new employees, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity are met. The role involves performing technical job responsibilities in a timely manner, including OPM's, Data Entry of Pick Lists, and the Receiving process. Additionally, the Team Lead will assist the Materials Supervisor with technical performance information on area employees, participate in 'Good to Go' walks with the supervisor to sustain 5S, and initiate maintenance requests without direct intervention. Operation of essential tools like forklifts and overhead cranes is required. The Team Lead will ensure pick lists are processed timely and accurately, act as a backup for Inventory job classifications, and perform other duties as required. All tasks must be performed safely, efficiently, timely, accurately, and productively according to company policy. The role contributes to team efforts for quality product production, requires attendance at scheduled work hours, compliance with company policies, and teamwork. Mandatory overtime may be required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience.
  • Forklift Certification
  • Crane Certification
  • 6 months to 1-year related experience in Inventory/Materials Control or manufacturing.
  • Experience with equipment, application skills, troubleshooting and training.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn other software/technology.
  • Proficient computer knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability as a leader – know when to follow and lead while keeping a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as function in a team environment.

  • Initiate actions (e.g., maintenance request) without the direct intervention of the Materials Supervisor.
  • Operate all types of tools essential and necessary to the job, including Forklift and Overhead Crane.
  • Assure pick lists are being processed in a timely manner, according to production needs and/or established practices.
  • Perform the requirements of an Inventory job classification, acting as a backup.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
