About The Position

This role requires operating filling and packaging equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures. The Team Lead is responsible for assigning jobs on the production line, ensuring safe operation, quality standards, and performance targets are met. This includes training and coaching Machine A, B, and C operators. The shift is Monday - Friday, 3 PM – 11 PM. The Machine A Operator role involves operating filling and packaging equipment safely, assisting in training when the Team Lead is unavailable, and covering line operations in the Team Lead's absence. The shift for this role is also 3 PM – 11 PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment in a lead role; preferably automotive or bottling and packaging.
  • Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.
  • Must have the ability to perform simple math calculations.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be certified to drive all types of forklifts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead others.

Responsibilities

  • Assures a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Reports any safety and/or environmental incidents immediately.
  • Performs manually and/or tends machines for various packaging functions such as filling, labeling, packing, or closing containers.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Responsible for machine adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, maintenance, cleaning, and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.
  • Identifies problems, troubleshoots, and trains on equipment including cardboard baler, plastic baler, filler, packaging robot, palletizer, RFID labeler, labeler, box erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.
  • Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with the bill of materials and special work instructions.
  • Conducts quality inspection of goods at correct intervals, ensuring product is packaged according to the work order and identifying/correcting quality issues.
  • Operates as a material handler if required.
  • Able to operate the mixing area if required.
  • Assists in training assigned full-time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.
  • Coordinates and performs routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of production, labor, and scrap incurred during the shift.
  • Assists with MH, B, and C operator roles when needed.
  • Temporarily runs manufacturing lines in the absence of a Team Lead.
  • Other Job duties as assigned.
