About The Position

Supporting the management team with day-to-day operation of the warehouse receiving team. Team Leads ensure efficient operations in achieving business targets and departmental metrics by acting as a bridge between employees and supervisors. This role is located in our Kinston, NC location. The shift will start at 6:00am and end at 3:30 pm depending on the production schedule. This role supports the production line and will follow production needs. Please be advised that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position at this time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience.
  • Has team leader skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Is self-aware with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of not meeting deadlines/ cost of poor quality.
  • Effective communicator at all levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and equipment used in each department such as ISO 50001 energy management systems.
  • Basic understanding and experience with MS Office, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Must obtain EMS Green Gear Certification within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day tactical leadership to hourly teammates to ensure KPIs and quality standards are met.
  • Support and comply with EMS and ISO Standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001).
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards while fostering a culture of working safety, team ship, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for training new teammates on the processes used to perform in their jobs such as conducting EMS training.
  • Ensure that teammates have the required resources to be successful at their work.
  • Act as the technical expert in the department while setting the example for safety, attendance, productivity, and attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ensure tasks are completed on time and redirect the work force as needed to help in other areas.
  • Where possible, resolve any issues or problems which occur in the area.
  • Where appropriate, elevate the issue to more senior leadership.
  • Communicate with staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, operational requirements, and shift hand-offs where applicable.
  • Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to warehouse supervisors and/or managers.
  • Act as a liaison with customers, suppliers, and transport companies when required in a timely, professional way.
  • Do spot quality and EMS audits in area of responsibility.
  • Help track the accountability of the department on all transactions.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as required.
  • Participate and/or lead in continuous improvement events.
