About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Team Lead – Facilities to provide technical leadership, coordinate facilities and maintenance activities, and ensure the safe, reliable operation of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role combines hands-on facilities expertise with leadership responsibilities, supporting a team of Facilities Technicians while driving equipment reliability, infrastructure improvements, continuous improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance. The Team Lead – Facilities is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Facilities team, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, prioritizing work assignments, and serving as the primary technical resource for facility operations. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EH&S, and site leadership to maximize equipment uptime, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The Team Lead is expected to remain actively engaged in troubleshooting, repairs, contractor coordination, and project execution while mentoring technicians and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting experience with industrial facility infrastructure and building systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV), forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift certifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with facility infrastructure projects and contractor management.
  • Experience with calibration programs and precision measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience supporting heat treat, forge, FPI, X-ray, IPSEN, ABAR, and GE equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and preventive maintenance optimization.
  • Associate degree or technical trade school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Facilities team to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Prioritize work orders and assign personnel based on operational priorities, equipment criticality, and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for troubleshooting facility infrastructure, utilities, building systems, and production support equipment.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Facilities Technicians through training, performance feedback, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support maintenance and reliability of site infrastructure, utilities, and facility assets.
  • Develop work scopes, project plans, and contractor requirements for facility infrastructure improvements and capital projects.
  • Oversee maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, electrical distribution, fire protection, roofing, building systems, and general facility infrastructure.
  • Support maintenance activities for heat treat, forge, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), X-ray, and other specialized manufacturing support equipment.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor facility performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, reliability enhancements, and root cause corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, FAA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Review and approve maintenance documentation, work orders, calibration records, and equipment history within the ERP/CMMS system.
  • Coordinate contractors and outside service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Support equipment installations, facility modifications, machinery relocations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the Facilities organization.
  • Maintain effective communication with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Planning, EH&S, and Site Leadership regarding equipment status, infrastructure issues, project updates, and maintenance priorities.
