About The Position

Under general supervision, the Team Lead Environmental Svcs trains and guides the activities of a group of Environmental service aides, as well as performing a variety of aide functions. The general purpose of this role is to provide the Hospital with a clean environment for patients, hospital employees, and visitors. Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of progressively more responsible housekeeping experience with some on the job training.

Responsibilities

  • See that subordinates (aides) perform duties in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assist with the training and orientation of new employees.
  • Provide functional guidelines on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assure that an adequate level of supplies are available in assigned areas, such as detergents, mops, hand soaps, etc., and alert the supervisor to requisition additional supplies when needed.
  • Perform Quality Control Inspections in designated areas.
  • Check quality of linen when being processed or delivered.
  • Maintain reports to be used in production of records for assigned areas, such as soiled linen reports, washroom reports, attendance reports, daily control sheets, weekly hour usage reports, daily payroll, completes subordinate performance evaluations, vacation and holiday schedules, etc.
  • Regularly perform functions of subordinates, such as sorting soiled linen, running hoist of hall bags of soiled linen, operating washers and dryers, floor refinishing, carpet shampooing and cleaning of all hospital areas.
  • Fill in for all supervisors on days off, vacation, sickness and be responsible for overseeing the complete operation of the designated area in which he or she is filling in for.
  • Counsel, assist with work related problems, and recommend disciplinary action to supervisor.
  • Verbally discipline employees.
  • Suspend employees for the remainder of the shift in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Be responsible for laundry supervision and housekeeping supervision on weekends and oversee all laundry and housekeeping operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
