About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Team Lead Echo for our Edgewood Diagnostic Imaging department located within the Edgewood hospital. This is a Full Time position with 40 hours per week, on the First Shift. The Team Lead Echo is a registered cardiac sonographer who leads the day-to-day operations of the department, directing shift activities and managing the patient schedule. They will assist other sonographers and students within the scope of their duties and aid in completing the application for IAC accreditation by gathering necessary information. The role emphasizes demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree program and/or qualifying experience in accordance with IAC guidelines.
Registered in non-invasive imaging with active status registry from ARDMS or CCI.
CPR certified.
Strong organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft office skills.
Cardiac: Advanced use of Doppler, continuous wave, pulse, color flow.
Ability to provide professional preliminary reports.
Knowledge of all of the latest procedures in Echo.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in all sections of cardiac imaging.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties of a registered cardiac sonographer.
Perform complete cardiac ultrasound studies in compliance with guidelines set by the IAC and approved by the Medical Directors and Technical Directors.
Maintain files and disperse results.
Responsible for notifying the ordering physician of critical results.
Maintain Quality Assurance of studies performed as well as equipment function.
Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the department ensuring high-quality examination of the patients.
Serve as a positive example for others in the department.
Assist other sonographers and students in the performance of their duties.
Responsible for the technical education of cardiovascular trainees or students.
Provide feedback to management on the overall performance of team members.
May assign work schedules and maintain Kronos as needed.
Coordinate patient scheduling for the department.
May be responsible for ordering supplies for the department, revenue/usage reporting, monitoring unsigned studies, call schedules for physician coverage, Epic template changes, and keeping sonographers updated on the most current procedures.
Maintain continuing education in compliance with the ARDMS, CCI, and IAC to continually provide high-quality diagnostic studies.
Responsible for gathering information for the IAC and helping to obtain studies for submission for reaccreditation.
Report equipment malfunctions promptly to Clinical Engineering or Plant Engineering.
Follow up to ensure function and safety for patients and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
