About The Position

The Team Leader – Cut Room position is on the Standard schedule of Monday through Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am, with overtime during the week and Saturdays when needed. This role receives a 2nd Shift Pay Differential. Stanley Access Technologies is an industry leader in automatic doors. The Team Leader for the Cut Room leads team members in the CNC functional area, with assignments and specific tasks for the department. This position has responsibilities in administration, production, workflow, work scheduling, and work assignments. Provides work direction, coaching/mentoring to other CNC Machinists. This role does not have supervisory responsibility or authority in personnel actions. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Computer literacy, including data entry, basic knowledge of ERP systems, and ability to use barcode scanners.
  • Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
  • Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate CNC machining team members to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Set up and operate advanced CNC functions following detailed instructions and established procedures on CNC equipment to cut, punch, form, drill, pulse, spin, mill and stamp, to produce metal parts and components per design and drawing specifications required for subassemblies or finished products.
  • Independently set up machine changeovers, tooling, calibrate, and operate CNC machinery as needed.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, or work instructions to assemble products.
  • Machine parts for subassemblies or complex components as part of a larger product.
  • Machine intricate or precision components requiring advanced skills or techniques.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly issues, including equipment malfunctions or non-conforming parts, using established procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on specialized CNC machining processes, machinery, and tools; provide training and mentoring to team members.
  • Monitor machine performance, make adjustments to optimize efficiency, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or assembly issues.
  • Track and document production metrics such as completed units and defects; implement Lean Manufacturing practices to reduce waste.
  • Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools and collaborate with Quality Team on advanced inspections, audits, and first article inspections.
  • Identify, segregate, and report defective or non-conforming parts; document root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; perform safety walks, equipment checks, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, logistics, and other teams to resolve challenges, improve processes, and provide input on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by cross-training, working overtime, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
