About The Position

As Team Lead A of the Sparta team, you will be involved in providing floor leadership and direction for the startup and daily operation of all assigned Machines and workstations in the Steering and Controls Cells/Cable Line departments. You will demonstrate the ability to support the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor, work independently with judgment and work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. Lead employees effectively; effectively train others and identify problems, assess manufacturing needs, problem solve and implement solutions in an effective and timely manner. You will be responsible for the daily supervision of all assigned areas including employees, production schedules, production supplies, cost controls and safety.

Requirements

  • Floor leadership and direction for the startup and daily operation of all assigned Machines and workstations in the Steering and Controls Cells/Cable Line departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and have zero accidents.
  • Lead/assist in set-up of machines.
  • Operates machines under general supervision.
  • Performs adjustments to the machines.
  • Performs routine daily checks.
  • Oversee daily operations of all assigned assembly lines and workstations.
  • Influence product design to assure good manufacturing efficiencies and control scrap.
  • Ensure operating and quality standards are met for all products produced in assigned areas.
  • Provide safety and operational training to all employees in the department.
  • Manage the assembly and finishing of steering and controls parts including employees, materials, scheduling, safety, quality and service/on-time delivery.
  • Set-up & change over product, adjust, operate all essential manufacturing equipment, including minor maintenance needs to remain operational.
  • Maintain and record an accurate account of manning, good parts and scrap parts daily.
  • May be assigned to perform other duties as requested.
