About The Position

Assists Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under moderate supervision. Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality). Records results and prepares simple technical reports. Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment. Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data. Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results. Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment. Perform duties aligned with the Quality Technician role to support plant quality objectives. Act as a primary point of contact on the shop floor for quality-related issues, problem-solving, and documentation support. Support Quality Engineers (QE) with data collection, analysis, and investigation activities. Participate in root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, A3) and assist in implementation of corrective actions. Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready quality records and documentation. Assist with containment activities, rework verification, and nonconformance tracking. Support adherence to inspection plans, control plans, and standard work. Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet specification requirements. Identify and escalate quality issues in a timely and structured manner. Support continuous improvement initiatives (scrap reduction, process stability, quality improvements). Understand and apply quality standards; support and coach operators to ensure adherence. Create and communicate quality alerts based on customer complaints.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings, specifications, and tolerances
  • Ability to use measurement equipment (e.g., gauges, calipers, etc.)
  • Prior shop floor/manufacturing experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferred
  • Welding knowledge preferred
