Teaching Quality Coordinator

University of AlbertaEdmonton, AB
CA$61,237 - CA$83,944Onsite

About The Position

The Teaching Quality Coordinator position bridges the gap between high-level educational standards and day-to-day classroom delivery in the MD Program through a rigorous cycle of evaluation and feedback. This position will establish the benchmarks for what "excellent" teaching and curriculum look like, covering pedagogical, disciplinary, and inclusion standards. The educators in this role will be "on the ground" (or in the digital archives) reviewing live lectures, vodcasts, and materials on the Cally system to ensure they meet those established benchmarks. A major part of this role is delivering constructive, individualized feedback to instructors— verbally and in writing—to help them sharpen their teaching skills. The MD Program delivers almost 1000 lectures each year, and this position will be responsible for providing feedback for these sessions on a regular basis. As well, the position will analyze these teaching audit data to identify broad trends, which will be used to brief leadership and help the Teacher Support team design faculty development initiatives and sessions.
