About The Position

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a Teaching Faculty I or II position. Candidates with substantial teaching and/or professional experience may be considered for appointment at the Teaching Faculty II level. We seek an outstanding educator with a strong passion for teaching, a demonstrated commitment to student success, and the ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering. In addition, preference will be given to candidates who can teach in high-demand and forward-looking areas such as, but not limited to, applications of artificial intelligence in industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, and related emerging areas, as well as candidates with experience designing and delivering experiential, project-based, or practice-oriented learning courses. Requirements

• The ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering
• 1 year of experience in engineering instruction or working with engineering students at the college level
• PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
• Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
• Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
• Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
• Supervises the day to day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
• May make presentations to faculty and to staff members on instructional programs and techniques (for Teaching Faculty level II)
• Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
