The Consumer Science Department in the School of Human Ecology (SoHE) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for two open-rank, renewable, non-tenure-track Teaching Faculty positions. Rank is commensurate with the successful candidate’s professional and teaching experience. The positions carry no research expectations and typically involve teaching four courses per semester (12 credits per semester; 24 credits annually). The successful candidates will develop and teach undergraduate courses in consumer behavior, marketplace studies, and related areas in both on-campus and online formats. Responsibilities include designing course content, preparing syllabi and learning objectives, creating and assessing student assignments, maintaining office hours, and supporting student learning and success. The Teaching Faculty will teach courses within the Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies program curriculum and related elective courses. In addition to teaching, these positions will support the undergraduate program through activities that enhance student experiential learning and professional development, including mentoring students, supporting conference participation and competitions, and contributing to departmental initiatives. Teaching assignments may be adjusted to accommodate programmatic responsibilities or other department priorities, as determined by the Department Chair. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain and continuously improve teaching effectiveness and remain flexible in meeting evolving departmental and program needs. Additional summer teaching opportunities, with separate compensation, may be available.
