About The Position

Quinnipiac University's Department of Biological Sciences is seeking an engaging, student-centered educator with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will primarily teach Human Anatomy and Physiology, with potential contributions to introductory biology courses. While a broad range of biological disciplines will be considered, expertise in Human Anatomy and Physiology is particularly encouraged. The role involves laboratory instruction using various methods, including dissections and virtual tools, within state-of-the-art facilities. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track teaching position, renewable and offering promotion opportunities. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, mentoring, and participating in service activities. The department values collaboration, mentorship, and inclusive pedagogy. The position requires regular on-campus presence.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, including both lecture and laboratory components.
  • Proven effectiveness in teaching undergraduate biology lecture and laboratory courses.
  • Ability to contribute positively within a collaborative academic environment.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning experience for students.
  • A terminal degree in Biology (or closely related field) is required at the time of employment to be hired at an initial rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
  • Candidates with a master’s degree in Biology (or closely related field) are eligible to be hired at the initial rank of Instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily contribute to the lecture and laboratory components of the two-semester Human Anatomy and Physiology course series, with the possibility of other introductory biology or graduate courses as needed.
  • Hold regular office hours for students.
  • Guide, advise, and mentor students academically and professionally.
  • Engage in departmental, college, university, and community service activities that support and advance the mission and values of the program, including attendance at department, college, and university meetings.
