About The Position

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a Teaching Associate to teach one or more course sections, typically PSYC 1101 or PSYC 3311 laboratory. Requirements

  • Must be a student in one of the three graduate programs in the Department of Psychology (MA in Psychological Science, MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or MS in Clinical Counseling Psychology).
  • Be enrolled in good standing as a classified graduate student in one of the three graduate programs in Psychology.
  • To teach the PSYC 3311 lab, the applicant should have completed PSYC 6640 (or equivalent) with a grade of B or better.
  • Maintain academic eligibility throughout the employment period (enrolled, with 3.0 GPA or higher).
  • Be available to teach courses at the scheduled days and times.
  • Attend pre-teaching course planning sessions during the week before classes begin in Fall.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work effectively with students and faculty.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a syllabus and assignments.
  • Create and deliver lessons and class activities.
  • Attend class weekly for the duration of the semester.
  • Grade assignments.
  • Hold weekly office hours.
  • Respond to student communication in a timely manner.
  • For PSYC 3311 laboratory sections, work closely with the full-time faculty members teaching the 3-unit lecture portion of the class to ensure lecture and lab coincide.
