About The Position

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Teaching Associate Pool. Well qualified graduate students are assigned Teaching Associate duties up to a maximum of 20 hours per week, and are assigned to work with a faculty member in a course taught by the faculty member. This is a pool of Teaching Associate for the department to draw on as necessary. Assignments are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may be offered course assignments on very short notice.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled graduate student in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.20 or better.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Coursework or prior teaching experience in the particular course topic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty members in courses within the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
  • Perform Teaching Associate duties up to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • Work with a faculty member in a course taught by the faculty member, including but not limited to courses in: EGCE 201, 214, 214L, 324L, 325L, 377 and 428L.

Benefits

  • Compensation range: $3,245 to $7,598 per month.
  • Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $5,200.
  • Full-time monthly base salaries are prorated to the time base assigned.
