About The Position

AoPS Academy is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Math, Language Arts, and/or Science Teaching Assistants for their summer camp sessions. This role involves supporting instructors with curriculum, working one-on-one with students, maintaining a positive learning environment, and assisting with grading. The position is ideal for those passionate about education and helping advanced students succeed in a collaborative and engaging classroom setting.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Possess strong Math, Language Arts and/or Science skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.
• Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials.
• Help advanced students grasp complex concepts.
• Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help.
• Help maintain an organized learning environment.
• Assist in managing up to 16 students.
• Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
• Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
• Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
