About The Position

AoPS Academy is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Teaching Assistants. This role involves supporting instructors with curriculum, assisting students one-on-one, managing classrooms of up to 16 students, grading assignments, and fostering an environment of critical thinking and academic curiosity. The position is based in Redmond, Washington, and requires a commitment of at least 3 hours per week during the academic year, with more intensive hours available during summer camps.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Possess strong Math and Language Arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.
• Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
• Must be able to commute to our campus in Redmond, Washington.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials.
• Help advanced students grasp complex concepts.
• Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help.
• Help maintain an organized learning environment.
• Assist in managing up to 16 students.
• Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
• Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
• Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
