About The Position
AoPS Academy is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Teaching Assistants. This role involves supporting instructors with curriculum, providing one-on-one student assistance, helping maintain an organized learning environment, grading assignments, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages critical thinking and academic curiosity among advanced students. The position is based in our Redmond, Washington location and is an in-person role.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong Math and Language Arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials, helping advanced students grasp complex concepts.
- Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help when needed.
- Help maintain an organized learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
- Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
