About The Position

This position is available only to enrolled American University students. Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions. In this position, you will work closely with the professor to contribute to teaching activities for the undergraduate finance course KSB-221 (FIN-365). The candidate should have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education. The position is for 7 hours a week.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of KSB-221 (FIN-365) with demonstrated high academic performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and responsive communication with the course coordinator.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and fellow teaching assistants.
  • Professional interpersonal skills for student, faculty, and staff interactions.
  • Must be an enrolled American University student.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all scheduled class sessions and maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Proctor examinations as assigned by the instructors.
  • Assist with grade distribution and record maintenance following examinations.
  • Conduct weekly office hours (up to 1 hour) to provide academic support and answer student questions.
