The School of Mathematical and Data Sciences at West Virginia University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month Teaching Assistant Professors. The preferred start date is January 2, 2027. Teaching Assistant Professor appointments have renewable terms of up to three years, with no limit on the number of terms. These positions are eligible for promotion (e.g., from Teaching Assistant Professor to Teaching Associate Professor, etc.); however, promotion to senior ranks is not a requirement for institutional commitment and career stability. The School of Mathematical and Data Sciences is a collaborative academic unit within the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University. The School offers undergraduate degree programs in Mathematics and Data Science and provides foundational mathematics instruction that supports students across numerous STEM disciplines and other academic programs throughout the University.
