The Department of Computer Science (CS) and the Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering at The University of Alabama invite applications for a Renewable Contract Teaching Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year appointment that is renewable at the discretion of the University. The primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in artificial intelligence, software engineering, and related computer science topics both in person and online; mentoring and guiding students individually and in project teams; maintaining a visible on-campus presence with regular office hours; innovating curriculum and assessment approaches; and performing service activities for the department, college, and university. Candidates with strong classroom teaching skills and a commitment to student success in artificial intelligence and software engineering are encouraged to apply. Faculty candidates must demonstrate an ability to develop and teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels in their area of expertise, as well as courses supporting the core degree programs.
