The Department of Communication in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor in the area of Film Studies. The successful candidate should have experience teaching introductory film studies courses, in addition to upper level courses in film criticism. Candidates should have experience teaching courses in-person as well as online. The position will start in August 2027. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment. Duties will include developing classes and teaching effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and providing service to the Department, University, and discipline. This is an in-person position. Most University classes are offered face-to-face and this role requires regular on-campus presence to support high-quality instruction and student learning. Participation in selected departmental or programmatic activities that advance teaching quality and student success is also expected, consistent with the responsibilities of non-tenure track faculty as defined by the academic department. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
