About The Position
Join AoPS Academy as a Math Teaching Assistant! This role involves supporting instructors with company-created curriculum, working one-on-one with students to help them grasp complex concepts, and maintaining an organized learning environment for up to 16 students. The Teaching Assistant will also assist with grading and providing constructive feedback, and foster an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity. This is an in-person position at our Redmond, Washington location.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong math skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must be located in Redmond or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials.
- Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help.
- Help maintain an organized learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
- Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
