About The Position

This is a Teaching Assistant position for CRM1700 B00, Introduction to Criminology, in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Criminology at the University of Ottawa. The course is offered in French and is in-person. The role involves a combination of tasks such as leading discussion groups, marking papers and exams, holding office hours for student consultations, and proctoring exams. The student must commit to the suggested work schedule and be available to attend the course if requested by the supervisor. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at a rate of $31.89/hour, while graduate students will be paid at $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactive pay provided after ratification.

Requirements

  • Baccalauréat avec spécialisation en criminologie ou son équivalent.
  • BA Honours in Criminology or equivalent.
  • Must commit to the suggested work schedule.
  • Must be available to attend the course if requested by the supervisor.
  • All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
