About The Position

This Teacher position is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate early care and education environment where infant, toddler, and preschool children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical skills. Teachers develop and implement curriculum and daily lesson plans for early childhood education classrooms, build collaborative relationships with parents and families, and complete documentation needed for the evaluation and management of early childhood education programs. Prepares classroom setting; Maintains safety and educational programs; supervises children in the classroom, outdoor play periods and nap time; Provides a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors in compliance with licensing regulations. Organizes and prepares developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; Plans and implements curriculum and education for children ranging in age from six weeks to five years old. Provides activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, language, problem solving, and physical skills appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts in Child Development
  • Meet minimum qualifications as per Title 22 and Title 5 regulations to include the core units of child or human growth & development, child, family & community coursework
  • Experience providing child development services to low income families and families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
  • First Aid, within 90 Days
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Nice To Haves

  • At least 24 semesters units in ECE, including 3 units related to the care of infants.
  • Experience working in an early childhood environment and/or educational institution/school
