About The Position

This position is responsible for providing tutoring and educational instruction for school-age children in an emergency shelter environment. The role involves assisting children with homework, test preparation, and basic computer skills, while also ensuring their constant care and safety.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field.
Valid Teacher’s Certificate for the State of Texas.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

Provides individualized tutoring and educational instruction to school-age children in an emergency shelter environment.
Provides computer training and education for children in an emergency shelter environment that are school age.
Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure and healthy manner.
Ensures the accountability, security and safety of children participating in tutoring activities; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
