Looking for a rewarding way to earn extra income this summer? UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health’s Jim Dooley Early Learning Center is seeking Per Diem Teachers to join our team for the summer season!

Whether you’re a childcare professional looking for flexible hours, a college student with childcare experience, or a high school graduate interested in working with children — this is a great opportunity to gain experience while making a difference in the lives of young learners.

Summer Position | Flexible Per Diem Schedule | $17.24/hour

Under the direction of the Child Care Director, Lead Teacher, or Infant Program Coordinator, the Teacher works as part of a collaborative classroom team to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children.

The Teacher helps plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities while supporting children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in accordance with New York State regulations, accreditation standards, and center policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Vocational training in childcare
• College coursework in education or early childhood development
• Current teachers looking for summer work
• College students studying education, childcare, or related fields
• Experienced babysitters or childcare workers
• High school graduates (18+) with childcare experience

Responsibilities

• Support daily classroom activities and routines
• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning experiences
• Provide a safe, caring, and positive environment for children
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and childcare staff
• Follow childcare regulations, safety guidelines, and center procedures
• Participate in classroom and program improvement activities
