About The Position

Must have a cheerful and courteous personality. Must be able to consistently maintain professional demeanor, relating to children, parents and other staff. Must exhibit sensitivity to individual interests, feelings and needs of all children. Must be able to maintain tact under stress and accept change. Sworn Statement or Affirmation for Child Care Program required. Additional Child Abuse Registry background check required for individuals residing outside State of Virginia in the past five years based on previous state of residency.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least eighteen (18) years of age
• One to six months related experience or training required

Nice To Haves

• More education in the early childhood field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assistant teachers
• Communicate orally and in writing with the parents and children
• Perform all duties outlined in the job description
• Meet or exceed the minimum standards required in the licensing regulations set forth for licensed child care centers.
