About The Position

LNPC Academy is a personalized, homeschool-hybrid academic program located inside the Lake Nona Performance Club in Orlando, Florida. Designed for motivated student-athletes and high-achieving students, the academy combines rigorous academics with an innovative learning environment that supports both intellectual and personal development. Students benefit from a flexible, honors-level curriculum that emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, project-based experiences, and real-world application. Our educators enjoy meaningful autonomy, a four-day instructional week, and the opportunity to help shape a growing academic program committed to excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning. LNPC Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to serve as the Head Teacher for English, Social Studies, and select electives for middle and high school students. This role blends instruction, mentorship, and leadership in a collaborative, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is a creative educator who enjoys designing engaging lessons, fostering intellectual curiosity, and supporting the development of student-athletes both academically and personally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or a related field
  • Passion for teaching humanities and working with student-athletes
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Obtain or willingness to obtain Florida teacher certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching honors-level or project-based curriculum
  • Interest in interdisciplinary learning and innovative education models
  • Background in coaching, mentorship, or student leadership development

Responsibilities

  • Teach honors-level English Language Arts courses, including: American Literature, World Literature, British Literature, Civic Literature. Instruction should emphasize: Critical reading, Analytical writing, Grammar and composition, Literary analysis and discussion.
  • Teach honors-level Social Studies courses, including: American History, World History, British History, U.S. Government, Economics.
  • Teach and develop elective courses, which may include: College & Career Preparation, Philosophy, Speech & Debate, Entrepreneurship, Psychology, Fine Arts.
  • Develop standards-aligned lesson plans that incorporate multiple learning styles and intelligences.
  • Design honors-level learning experiences, including collaborative projects, presentations, and research-based assignments.
  • Create authentic learning opportunities that connect classroom content to real-world applications and civic engagement.
  • Foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and strong communication skills.
  • Manage a classroom of motivated middle and high school student-athletes in an innovative and fast-paced learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model supporting both academic and personal development.
  • Use Google Classroom and digital tools to manage assignments, grades, and communication.
