About The Position

St. Clement of Rome Catholic School seeks a dedicated and faith-filled Teacher to foster a Christ-centered, academically excellent learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth of each student. The Teacher integrates Catholic values into all aspects of instruction, maintains high academic standards, and supports the mission and vision of the school in alignment with the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS).

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
  • Strong knowledge of Catholic teachings and commitment to faith-based education
  • Ability to use educational technology to enhance instruction
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, families, and parish community
  • Completion of background screening and compliance with Archdiocese Prevent and Protect STL Safe Environment Program required

Nice To Haves

  • Valid teaching certification appropriate for elementary education preferred
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred, especially in a Catholic school setting

Responsibilities

  • Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions and classroom practices
  • Integrate faith-based principles into lessons and foster a respectful, inclusive environment
  • Participate in liturgies, prayer services, and religious celebrations
  • Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Archdiocesan standards, state standards, and NSBECS
  • Use differentiated instruction and varied teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Engage students in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication
  • Apply current educational best practices to enhance learning
  • Support students’ academic, spiritual, and social-emotional development
  • Maintain high expectations for behavior and achievement
  • Assess student progress using formative and summative methods
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding performance
  • Build positive relationships within the school and parish community
  • Participate in school events, service projects, and collaborative initiatives
  • Engage in professional development and reflect on teaching practices for continuous improvement
  • Work collaboratively with pastor, faculty, staff, and families to support student success
