About The Position

Under general direction of the building administrator, is responsible for planning, providing, and evaluating varied learning experiences of students in cooperation with other staff members, parents, and the public. The position makes long and short-range plans for each subject area of instruction, provides for individual differences in the learning needs of students, demonstrates subject mastery, and provides a classroom climate based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness, and consistency. The teacher demonstrates competency in instructional skills, evaluates in terms of planned goals and revises instruction as a result of the evaluation, and informs pupils of their progress in terms of the objectives set for the lesson or course of study. The role involves interacting positively with students, professional associates, and patrons of the school district, meeting classes, rendering accurate reports, and performing assigned duties punctually. The teacher must adjust to varied situations, demands, and new instructional concepts, and fulfill job-related non-teaching duties. Additionally, the position directs student teachers, paraeducators, pupil tutors, Option C students, methods class students, and parent volunteers when such personnel are accepted to enhance the instructional program, and handles student discipline and attendant problems. Requirements

  • Washington Endorsement - Elementary Education
  • Thorough knowledge of subject areas taught.
  • Ability to organize time and materials effectively.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and volunteers in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to incorporate literacy instruction into other areas of instruction.
  • Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employee’s responsibility.)
  • The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
