About The Position

This position is for an active CO PERA retiree and only works 110 days or 720 hours per calendar year. Provides instruction and carries out lessons as assigned. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary. This position is represented by an employee association (bargaining unit).

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license. (DPS does accept a CDE Application Receipt for 90 days.)
Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Responsibilities

Provides instruction and carries out a teacher's lesson plan in classrooms as assigned
Organizes students for effective instruction and learning while maintaining classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students
Motivates student learning and academic participation while ensuring the integrity of academic time
May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.
