About The Position

CCRC is seeking a passionate Teacher to join their Early Care and Learning Program. This role is vital to the organization's mission of cultivating child, family, and community well-being. The Teacher will be responsible for providing quality preschool services to enrolled children, focusing on classroom management and administrative functions. CCRC is a growing non-profit organization with over 900 employees, dedicated to making a difference in Northern Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education, Families Studies, or related field including a minimum of 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education.
  • Must have 3 semester units in Infant/Toddler Development.
  • 2 years’ experience working with families and children in a preschool setting required.
  • Related work experience in Early Childhood Education.
  • Must hold a valid First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have a current Teacher Permit or above based on the California Teacher Credential (CTC) Matrix.
  • Intermediate technology skills specifically using Zoom, Outlook, and Microsoft Suite, as well as the ability to learn additional platforms related to the program.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate professional practices, effective teaching strategies, Community Care Licensing and DCFS regulations.
  • Some travel/business related driving required.
  • Must hold and maintain current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and receiving DMV clearance if driving on behalf of CCRC.
  • Teachers work full time 40 hours.
  • Background check required.
  • Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting required for positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting.
  • Health Clearance required for positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with “at risk” populations.
  • MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC’s liability insurance provisions for positions where driving is required.
  • Child Development Permit for positions working in an educational capacity.
  • CPR / Pediatric CPR certification for certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting.
  • Federal Debarment Checks for positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal CCRC applicants may alternatively meet the education requirement by holding an Associate’s Degree, a minimum of 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education, participating in the waiver program, and must have 3 semester units in Infant/Toddler Development.
  • Internal CCRC applicants must have a minimum of 1,000 hours in ECL classroom working with families and children in a preschool or childcare setting within the last two years.
  • Individuals who do not yet hold a current permit and are pending receipt of the permit may be considered for hire if they provide documentation confirming the permit application has been officially submitted and is pending review through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Documentation must show a submitted application status; payment receipts or preliminary steps alone (e.g., Certificate of Clearance or fingerprint submission) do not meet this requirement. Those pending receipt of the permit must receive it within 3 months, 90 days, of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality preschool services for children enrolled in the Early Care and Learning Program.
  • Classroom Management (80% of duties).
  • Administrative Functions (20% of duties).
