About The Position

The Lead Teacher's job is to holistically educate the child, ensuring their needs and interests are met. They must stimulate students' language, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by providing meaningful and personalized learning experiences. The role requires following professional practices consistent with school policies, collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. The Lead Teacher must adhere to North Carolina regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • HS Degree + Early Childhood NC Credentials (with at least 18 EC Ed credits) or Bachelor's in Education, Psychology.
  • AA/AAS in Early Childhood Development or Child Development.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in early childhood.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Criminal background check (DHHS Criminal Background Check).
  • Fluent communication in Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and families.
  • Physical agility: Ability to move easily within the classroom, including kneeling, crouching, crawling, running, and jumping to interact with children at their level.
  • Active physical interaction: Ability to get down to the child's level physically, whether sitting on the floor or kneeling, to promote an environment of closeness and trust.
  • Adaptability to movement: Ability to make quick and precise movements when necessary to ensure children's safety, such as assisting them during play or in risky situations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and document all pedagogical activities following SFF! guidelines and ensuring they align with the school's established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure student attendance is up-to-date and collaborate with the team in managing all classroom activities, complying with DCDEE and SFF! regulations and policies.
  • Actively attend and contribute to planning meetings, school events, and parent conferences, ensuring SFF! policies and DCDEE rules are met at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations established by SFF! and DCDEE, making sure the classroom and materials are safe and appropriate for children.
