About The Position

A TMSA teacher is expected to succeed in a high-expectations environment while working as a team player. Teachers bring the competencies, energy, and positive attitude needed to encourage and teach students in their academic and social preparedness. The role is for a third-grade teacher in Greensboro and reports to the Principal. The contract length is 195 days.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Current North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining one.

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Understand the NC State Standard Course of Study and develop proficient, effective lesson plans for the assigned grade level and subject area.
Establish a safe, orderly environment and a culture that empowers students.
Manage classroom behaviors and minimize disruptions to learning.
Participate in TMSA’s MTSS processes and procedures to provide equitable and valuable education for all students.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors from the Leader In Me program implemented schoolwide at TMSA.
Collaborate with school personnel to create a professional learning community.
Develop goals and strategies through the school improvement plan.
Be open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators.
Differentiate instruction according to students’ needs.
Collaborate with colleagues to mentor and support teachers and improve the effectiveness of the department or grade level.
Value each student’s differences and contributions by building positive, appropriate relationships.
Regularly assess students through formative and summative assessments.
Use technology and instructional media to enhance learning.
Work with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful, nurturing learning environment.
Perform other duties assigned by the Principal.
