Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder. This role involves participating in ARD/IEP meetings, completing required paperwork, developing and implementing instructional programs, demonstrating competence in behavior management principles, administering assessments, communicating with parents and staff, collecting data on student progress, and providing instruction using research-based methods. The teacher will also use teaching procedures that promote skill generalization and maintenance, participate in professional development, and may be required to physically prompt students, which could involve lifting and positioning. Additional duties may include SHARS duties and providing personal care as identified in student IEPs.
