The mission of this role is to implement and monitor the Positive Approach to Student Success (RISE) Program to provide behavioral and instructional support to students and campus personnel. This role involves communicating with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians regarding student needs, including ARD paperwork, IEPs, BIPs, and general progress. Success in this role means effectively managing student behavior within the RISE program, serving as a campus resource for behavior management strategies, and assisting in the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and academic/behavior IEPs. The role requires implementing all elements of the RISE program, attending staffings and ARD meetings, providing instruction in the RISE classroom, maintaining student portfolios, and attending RISE teacher trainings. Additionally, the role involves ongoing communication with parents, utilizing the RISE TRACKER program, maintaining classroom logs and monitoring sheets, providing leadership to RISE paraprofessionals, and obtaining/maintaining CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification. The position also offers technical assistance in behavioral intervention strategies for students not in the RISE program and training for campus personnel on the RISE program. Other duties may include SHARS duties and providing personal care as identified in student IEPs. Potential leadership opportunities include supervising teacher aides and student teachers.
