About The Position

This is a high school teaching position for Special Education LRC Biology, serving grades 9-12. The role is a 10-month position. The primary goal is to provide an approved special education program, foster a learning and personal growth environment, help students develop foundational skills for continued education, and maintain positive relationships with parents and staff.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate or ability to obtain certification through the Limited Instructional Certification Program.
• Teacher of the Handicapped certificate or Biology and Students with Disabilities certificates.
• Holder of Certificates of Eligibility must complete the 50-hour pre-professional experience as required by the NJ Department of Education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Candidates for employment who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to be tested for the usage of controlled dangerous substances as they are defined in N.J.S.A. 2C:35-2.
