About The Position

The Special Education Teacher in the CDC classroom is responsible for providing instruction to special needs students and maintaining required paperwork at federal, state, and local levels. Also responsible for teaching TN State Standards and leading students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological growth, and maturation. Assisting students with daily life functions (toileting, eating, etc.) may be required. The teacher will lead a classroom with multiple assistants, managing a team setting.

Requirements

  • Current valid educator license with appropriate endorsement(s) to serve all special needs populations, modified and comprehensive
  • CPR/First Aid certifications
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Satisfactory background/fingerprint checks as required by the Tennessee State Department of Education and state law
  • Meet health and physical requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Additional endorsements in English, Math (Alg. I), or Science
