Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder. This role involves participating in ARD/IEP meetings, completing required paperwork, developing and implementing instructional programs, and demonstrating competence in behavior management principles. Success in this role means collecting and maintaining data to measure student progress, providing instruction using research-based methods, and promoting skill generalization and maintenance. The teacher will also participate in continuing professional development, provide physical prompts for students which may involve lifting and positioning, and perform other assigned SHARS duties. Additionally, the role includes providing personal care as identified in student IEPs.
