About The Position

This position involves teaching students with disabilities, requiring the candidate to diagnose student strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials. The role demands mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills, expertise in designing and implementing standards-based instruction, and a strong understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. The teacher will be responsible for analyzing and using data to drive instruction and must possess excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and respect for others are essential. Computer literacy and the ability to use interactive computer instructional software are required, as is effective oral and written communication with staff, students, parents, and the community. Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA is also necessary. This position is pending budget availability and is open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted or until filled. Requirements

  • Must hold New Jersey teacher certificates in K-6 and Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped.
  • Possess interpersonal skills with students, staff, parents & community.
  • Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills.
