About The Position
Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning during a particular time period in social studies.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 026, 027, 028 or applicable
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based social studies instruction that promotes critical thinking, historical inquiry, civic responsibility, and global awareness.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement, academic achievement, and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
- Use data-driven instructional practices and differentiated strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide meaningful feedback, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student success.
- Foster connections between history, geography, economics, civics, and current events through interactive learning experiences, projects, and technology integration.
