About The Position

Victory Early Childhood at St. John's Parkside is seeking a Teacher - SEIT Fee-for-Service for their integrated Early Childhood Program for students aged 2.5-5 years old. This program aims to provide specialized, high-quality educational programming for students with and without disabilities across Western New York, serving Pre-K through 12th grade students in 6 schools. The focus is on blending academic and social-emotional support to meet the diverse needs of all learners. The role involves planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities, ages 0-5, in various settings, and creating a flexible program and learning environment with specialized instruction. The position may also include completing Early Intervention and CPSE evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Education or similar field.
  • Must obtain Master’s degree per NYSED guidelines.
  • NYS Special Education Teacher Certification within 6 months of start date.

  • 1-2 years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all available documentation related to the individual prior to beginning treatment; including the IEP/IFSP, script and prior evaluations if available
  • Develops an appropriate treatment plan for each individual
  • Performs treatments according to IFSP/IEP and accepted professional standards and practices
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of individual during each visit and modifies goals/outcomes/treatment plan accordingly
  • Performs appropriate parent/caregiver education and develops home programs as necessary
  • Works as part of an inter-disciplinary team, utilizing communication with all team members to enhance the treatment program of the individual
  • Maintains an accurate schedule
  • Submits all required documentation of visits according to established procedures
  • Performs evaluations as assigned and when necessary; following all established procedures
  • Communicates with families on a regular basis
  • Keeps abreast of legal responsibilities, professional ethics, standards of practice and agency rules, policies and regulations.
  • Provides for own professional growth by attending continuing education and in-services; tracking this to assure compliance with state licensing requirements and program requirements
  • Discontinues therapy when child no longer meets eligibility requirements
  • Provides own transportation to service locations
  • Maintains client confidentiality with HIPPA/FERPA and agency guidelines
  • Maintains professional appearance, follows agency dress code
  • Attends annual fee for service meeting and any other meetings required by your supervisor
  • Attends CPSE and IFSP meetings for individuals on caseload as required
  • Adheres to and signs Annual Employee Agreement
  • Documents time off and time worked accurately according to agency policies
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by their direct supervisor
