About The Position

The Teacher's Aide position at Heritage Christian School provides support to the classroom teacher by performing daily duties and responsibilities that assist in the care and education of students. The ideal candidate is a Christian with an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees with the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values, and Employee Covenant. This role requires excellent working relationships and the ability to represent Christ and HCS professionally within the school community, including faculty, staff, Board members, parents, and volunteers.

Requirements

HS diploma required
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships
Ability to represent Christ and HCS professionally and positively
Time management skills
Ability to work with children and adults
Clear verbal communication skills
Excellent work ethic
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
Must be able to use a computer and other audio-visual equipment

Nice To Haves

Teaching degree is ideal
Experience working in a classroom or another setting with children is highly desired

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily arrival and dismissal of students
Assist in lunch duties and recess duties for the grade level assigned
Tutor children individually or in small groups as directed by the classroom teacher
Assist the classroom teacher in daily duties as requested and assigned
Act as substitute teacher as the need arises and as requested by the school principal or designee
Assist the classroom teacher in clerical work such as phone calls, grading, assisting with bulletin boards, typing, proofreading, daily classroom preparations
Assist with special events within a grade level
Assist with special activities and projects within a classroom or grade level
