About The Position
St. Joseph School in Shelbyville is hiring a teacher's aide for the 2026-2027 school year.
Requirements
- Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
- Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training
- Background screening required
- Valid driver's license required
- Strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate and work well with children in a positive manner
- Willingness to foster the Church's mission
Responsibilities
- Transcribing tests or other written assignments
- Proctoring tests and quizzes
- Small group and one-on-one instruction reinforcing lessons taught in the classroom by the general education teacher
- Aids in the preparation of learning and practice materials, behavior management support materials, and other items as needed
- Communicates daily with the special education coordinator regarding student progress and needs
- Assists in record keeping and data tracking as needed
- Other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of the School/ Parish/ Agency
