About The Position
The primary job goal of a teacher's aide is to support the teacher in managing the classroom while facilitating student learning and development.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Must be 18 or older
- 6+ months of prior experience working in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program
Nice To Haves
- 6 completed units of early childhood education
- CPR/First Aide
- Non-Crisis Intervention
- Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Review learning material with students, either individually or in small groups, to help reinforce lessons presented by teachers
- Supervise students in class, during lunch, playtime, and at special events, like field trips
- Aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills to students
- Assist in enforcing center and classroom rules
- Assist with record keeping, such as student progress notes
- Help teachers prepare for lessons by assembling materials and equipment
- Provide personal aid and care as necessary to students, such as help with hygiene, first aid, eating or toileting, for example
