About The Position

Family Service League is seeking a part-time Teacher's Aide to assist in providing students with a solid curriculum-based program that offers them the educational, social and emotional components necessary to be prepared for pre-kindergarten. The Teacher’s Aide will be responsible for helping the Teacher with the day-to-day operation of the classroom.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must possess the ability to communicate in a positive and empathetic manner with children.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required.
• Spanish language fluency required.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience working in a classroom or pre-school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of the curriculum and supplement it with developmentally appropriate materials, lessons and activities.
• Under the supervision of the teacher, utilize positive classroom management techniques to guide children's behavior.
• Assist in the implementation of a structured daily routine.
• Assist in the implementation of assessments of every student.
• Maintain a clean, safe and positive classroom environment, with varied and appropriate materials available to students.
• Demonstrate and facilitate appropriate conflict resolution, model kindness and empathy toward others.
• All other duties as assigned.
