The Teacher, Pre K VE position is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students can develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and psychologically, in accordance with the District's philosophy, goals, and objectives. This role involves establishing goals based on student needs and curriculum requirements, planning and preparing engaging lessons, and identifying instructional materials to meet diverse student needs. The teacher will maintain a safe and organized learning environment, manage time and resources effectively, and supervise volunteers and aides. Key responsibilities include using effective behavior management techniques, assisting in enforcing school rules, and participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Educational Plans (EPs), and 504 Plans. The position requires developing assessment strategies, interpreting data for instructional planning, and ensuring appropriate testing environments. The teacher will demonstrate subject matter knowledge, apply learning principles, and utilize a multimedia approach with various materials and equipment. Additionally, the role involves enhancing critical thinking skills, providing instructional modifications for students with special needs, and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment. Effective communication with professionals, students, and parents is essential, as is collaboration with peers and parents. The teacher is expected to engage in continuous professional growth, conduct self-assessments, and model professional and ethical conduct. This role also includes preparing reports, maintaining records, and supporting school improvement initiatives to ensure continuous student growth and achievement.
