About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join their team in Bel Air, MD, for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves providing itinerant TVI and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments across various campuses. The TVI will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering direct instruction in essential skills such as braille and screen readers, and collaborating with educators and support staff to ensure students have appropriate accommodations and access to the curriculum. Additionally, the TVI will coordinate with school teams to manage caseloads, including scheduling, providing progress updates, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education, Visual Impairments, or Special Education
Active Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification
Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting providing direct and consultative services
Braille proficiency strongly preferred
